REFLECTION

In this  class, I learned a lot about basic composition, and how having a good composition can make your art look way better. Through photoshop, I learned in using different tools like the marquee, quick selection, select and mask, etc. I noticed that each tool has its strengths, especially when trying to select specific parts of an image, like the quick selection tool for bigger areas and the magic wand for simpler shapes. The Select and Mask feature was also super helpful for refining edges, which made a big difference when working on detailed parts like hair.

Recoloring black-and-white photos and adjusting hue and saturation showed me how small color changes can totally change the mood of an image. I'm actually quite surprised at how much I learned about photoshop in a span of just 7 weeks. My favorite project had to be the physical collage as it took me back to my old kindergarden art class where we had to cut out and paste images on a paper but this time with more knowledge in mind. Overall, experimenting with these tools gave me a better idea of Photoshop’s potential and made me feel more confident about editing images.
