REFLECTION
This module felt very different from my specialization modules, and that was something I struggled with throughout the project. Instead of focusing on design, we had to spend a lot of time doing interviews, testing, and thinking about practical problems for the patient transfer device. While I get why this is important, it often broke my flow and distracted me from my specialization work, which I didn’t really enjoy. Switching between this module and my other projects made it harder for me to stay focused and motivated.
The interviews and testing were challenging because they forced me to rethink ideas that seemed fine at first. A lot of concepts didn’t work once we thought about safety, comfort, and how caregivers would actually use the device. This meant going back and changing things multiple times, which was frustrating but also showed me why testing matters. I didn’t always enjoy how slow the process felt, but it helped me understand that designing for real people is very different from just designing something that looks good.
Overall, this wasn’t my favorite module, but it did made me learned how important user feedback and testing are when creating something meant to be used in real life.
