Project 2/Poster Design & Double Exposure

REFLECTIVE WRITING

Working on these Photoshop projects has been a really interesting and challenging experience. I learned how to use tools like clipping masks, hue and saturation adjustments, the refine edge tool,  the select and mask feature, etc. At first, it was kind of confusing, especially when I was trying to refine edges around tricky parts like hair or tree branches. My first tries didn’t turn out great, and the transitions looked rough. But as I kept trying and experimenting, I started to see how even small changes could make a big difference. This taught me to be more patient and pay attention to the details.

One of my favorite parts of the project was using the clipping mask tool. I had a lot of fun figuring out how to combine textures and images in a way that made everything look connected. It was really satisfying when it finally clicked for me. On the other hand, hue and saturation adjustments were harder to get right. I struggled to make the colors look natural without overdoing it, but over time I got a better feel for it. These tools showed me how much small changes could affect the overall mood of the design.

Looking back, I think I’ve learned a lot from this experience, not just about Photoshop but also about problem-solving. For example, using the refine edge tool was frustrating at first because it felt so slow and picky, but it also made me realize how important it is to take my time and do things right. Also, learning how to brighten images using the curves adjustment helped me understand how light and contrast can really change how an image feels.

Overall, these projects made me realize that mistakes are part of the process, and they actually helped me learn more than just doing things perfectly the first time. I feel more confident now and excited to take on harder projects in the future. I know there’s still a lot to learn, but this has been a really good start, and I’m looking forward to improving even more.
